An experienced orthopedic surgeon and medical school professor based at the University of Virginia (UVA), Dr. Bobby Chhabra currently works as the associate chief medical officer of surgical services with the UVA Health System. He serves as the director of the UVA Hand Center, where he oversees all medical activities and administers the UVA Orthopedic Hand and Upper Extremity Fellowship. In addition to his formal work with the UVA Health System, Dr. Bobby Chhabra acts as a hand surgery consultant with the UVA Department of Athletics and a faculty member with Primary Care Sports Medicine Program.
Dr. Bobby Chhabra also holds a number of academic positions at the UVA Health System, including professor of orthopedic surgery and professor of plastic surgery. As a member of the UVA faculty, he received the Charles W. Miller Chief Resident Teaching Award in 2010 and served as the president of the Virginia Orthopedic Society for one year. He obtained a doctor of medicine from the University of Virginia School of Medicine.
